🚨 Featured #LinkedInQuestion 🚨: I've worked with an executive coaching team to update my LinkedIn and resume, but I'm still not getting any recruiter traffic. Any suggestions?ANSWER from Brenda Meller 🥧: great question and one I've been asked before. First I'd like to approach this question from a different perspective. Your goal is to find a new role. My guess is you're intention of working with a coach was with hope that the updated LinkedIn profile and resume would drive the recruiters to find you. That could be the case, and it could be a matter of time before you are found. But what if instead you used both that newly refreshed LinkedIn profile and awesome new resume for half the work of finding a new role (letting them work for you) and you did the other half: networking, becoming more active in the LinkedIn homepage feed, engaging more with targeted company pages and their employees, etc? Here's my suggestions for you:1️⃣ FOLLOW their company page (for your target companies).2️⃣ Click ABOUT and then go to "Interested in working with us in the future?" and click on "I'm interested"3️⃣ Click on POSTS on their page and find a recent post. Add a thoughtful comment of 8+ words.4️⃣ Click on # of employees and find 3-5 employees to invite to connect. These 4 items will increase your visibility for that organization, and may turn a cold opportunity into a warm job lead. In addition, don't wait for the recruiters to find you. Search for them!✅ Go to your search bar and type in your industry and the word "recruiter" - so for example "Marketing Recruiter" (and try this with or without the quotation marks)✅ Add filters to apply geography, for example, your country✅ Invite recruiters to connect to you. In your invitation, mention that you notice they are seeking candidates in your industry. ✅ After they accept your invitation, ask if they would be open to a quick 10-15 minute intro call, OR if they have a job board which highlights their current positions, OR tell them to message you back if there are ever any positions where you might be a fit. Also let them know you'll be happy to provide them with referrals / introductions. (They will love you for this)And finally: How do you know you're not getting any recruiter traffic? I am assuming you mean you're not seeing any recruiters looking at your profile. They might be looking at your profile, but you're not seeing them- Because they are viewing you privately in the public version of LinkedIn (the one you and I use)- Because they are using LinkedIn recruiter, which allows them to view you privatelyI am hosting an upcoming event that might be of interest to you:https://lnkd.in/essrMuWeIt's going to be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 10am-2pm ET. It's free, virtual, and you'll be watching only (no cameras for attendees). 😎Hope this helps you! #jobsearchstrategy #findingrecruiters #recruitertips #jobsearchtips #experiencerich #wbl24

In your career journey and even business, the elevator pitch is your secret weapon. That concise, compelling introduction can make all the difference when you have just a few moments to capture someone's attention. Having a well-prepared elevator pitch is a game-changer, whether at a conference, job fair, or even a virtual networking event. Here are a few tips to help you craft a memorable elevator pitch:Keep It Brief: You've got 30 seconds or less. Get to the point and make it clear.Highlight Your Value: What problem do you solve? What makes you unique? Showcase your expertise and what you bring to the table.Practice, Practice, Practice: The more you rehearse, the more confident you'll feel when delivering your pitch.Tailor It: Customize your pitch for different situations and audiences. One size doesn't fit all.End with a Call to Action: What's the next step? Whether setting up a meeting, exchanging contact information or emphasizing why you’re the best fit for the job, guide the conversation forward.Having a compelling elevator pitch is not just for job seekers or entrepreneurs; it's a valuable tool for everyone. So, invest some time crafting yours because you never know when that elevator door will open to new opportunities.
