Back in November 2022, Crunchyroll announced that it had obtained the streaming and broadcasting rights for the series outside of Japan. The series began its simulcast broadcast on April 1, 2023, around the world, with the episodes airing every Saturday in Japan and globally, thanks to Crunchyroll’s simulcast of the series. But, the version people have been able to watch every Saturday was the original Japanese version with English and subtitles in other languages, depending on where you actually are. As of the time of writing, the first season is still airing.
Building on that fact, at this moment, the Hell’s Paradise: Jigokoraku anime has not, as expected, been renewed for a second season, at least not officially, but seeing how popular the series is, there is absolutely no doubt that it is going to be renewed, so we can already discuss a potential release date. The manga that the anime is based on is finished, so we actually don’t have any new material in that field, but as we’ve said, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is too popular and too lucrative to be simply discarded after one successful season, so we’re certain that the manga being over won’t influence the future of the series.
Now, as far as that is concerned, there are a lot of questions still because it is too early. Namely, this was not a split-cour season but a full 14-episode season, meaning the second season has not yet been produced.

At this moment, we have absolutely no idea about the content of a potential second season of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokoraku. Why? Well, as we’ve said, the second season hasn’t been greenlit yet, and with the first season still airing, we have no idea where the season will end and that the writers plan to adapt in a potential second season. This is why we can only bring a general overview of the series to roughly prepare you for what you could expect from a potential second season.
The young ninja Gabimaru from the village of Iwagakure is one of the best in his guild. But after being married to the clan chief’s daughter, he wants to give up killing. On the next mission, he is betrayed and sentenced to death. Despite his protestations that he wants to die himself, his ninja techniques thwart any attempted execution. Executioner Sagiri Yamada Asaemon eventually discovers that love for his wife keeps Gabimaru in this world.
She proposes a new mission to earn a pardon: south of Japan, the island of Shinsenkyo has been discovered, which is said to contain the elixir of eternal life. The Shogun wants this for himself and has already sent five expeditions, but none have returned. If Gabimaru can bring the elixir to the Shogun, his life will be spared. So the ninja is sent to Shinsenkyo along with Sagiri as his guardian. But he’s not the only doomed man who has agreed to the deal. Nine more have been sent with their guards and are now – besides the dangers of the strange land – to compete for the elixir.
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokoraku Season 2 potential cast
As we have said, we don’t have any detailed official info about the second season of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokoraku, so we can only speculate that the main cast from the first seasons, both the Japanese and English voice actors, will return.
If we look at other shows and how things usually play out, the main cast is probably going to return, as it is quite rare for cast members to change between seasons unless a character ages significantly, but since that is not the case with this show, we expect the cast to return (well, those whose characters have survived, at least).
This, of course, depends on the production dates and everything else, but this has been the case with most anime so far, as we have said, so we can assume that it will happen again with Hell’s Paradise: Jigokoraku, but we cannot be absolutely certain. So, who would return? Here is a list:

Although it is still pending confirmation, we assume the only place where you will be able to watch the second season Hell’s Paradise: Jigokoraku, both the subbed and dubbed versions, will be Crunchyroll, the biggest anime streaming service in the West.
