Hot dog restaurant

Fast food restaurant

The Roanoke Weiner Stand, a long-standing local eatery in downtown Roanoke, VA, is famous for its delectable hot dogs. Since 1916, this multi-generational establishment has been an integral part of the city's culinary scene. Their renowned hot dogs are adorned with mustard, onion, and chili toppings that make them irresistible. Alongside their signature dish, they also offer a mouthwatering S.C.

This is a family tradition! My husband, his Dad, and brother grew up in Roanoke and LOVE the hot dogs! Every hot dog gets compared to these and every hotdog fails in comparison!

Kim Fairchild — Google review

The hot dogs just aren't the same since the reopening..I have tried them on 2 different occasions and both times they just don't have the Weiner stand authentic taste and then to pay over $11 for a combo consisting of 2 hot dogs, fries and a medium drink I don't think I will return.

brenda brown — Google review

Hot dogs didn't taste good. Had a salty flavor. Sauerkraut was frozen and they threw some packets of ketchup on the side. Anyone that has been to a good hot dog place knows that's just not it.Plus side decent price.

J Tut — Google review

The price of a hot dog was way to high when all you get is a slap of mustard , and a teaspoon of chili and a few fake onions. I was very disappointed. I have been going to the Roanoke Weiner Stand since I was 2 years old, now being 72 years old. The weeny tasted like chicken instead of all beef. I use to ask for extra mustard and it was no problem. Now you charge 45 cents for extra mustard which is not even 1/4 teaspoon. This is beyond ridiculous . I will never return to this rip off joint again. Word of mouth is best advertisem*nt and trust me I will be telling all of my friends that have been loyal customers for 70 years.

Jerry — Google review

Food was so bad . I’ve never paid 10$ for two hot dogs and a fry and drink. Worse food I’ve ever tasted in my life and I’ve been to a lot of places

Ted Bray — Google review

Now that they are back open food is not the same Chilli taste off and they messed my large order up. Im sure I explained it Plain and simple. Ugh .

Amberle F — Google review

Just don't. Hot dogs are poor quality & have zero girth. They charge 75 cents for relish. Mustard is watered down. Fountain drink is mostly ice. Ketchup packets are thrown on your tray. Employees don't care.

Marcy Fitzpatrick — Google review

Has been the same experience for all of my 44 years on this earth. Always a quality hot dog. Always friendly service. Always the best, in the valley.

chris mercer — Google review

Place isn’t the same since the old man passed away. The hotdogs don’t taste the same and the fries are absolutely horrible. On top of that, two dogs and a fry was 10 bucks! Girl at the front just looked at me like I was an idiot when I walked in and order. Don’t know what was up with that. Used to eat here as a kid all time and when I came home on leave from the military. Won’t be going back now. Texas Tavern has better hotdogs nowadays.

Allen Hodges — Google review

Established in 1916, this multi generational local establishment has been part of the heartbeat and literal flavor of downtown Roanoke, VA. Known for their Weiners with mustard, onion and chili toppings, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to have just one. They also have S.C. BBQ sandwich, a new item flavored w mustard bbq, quickly becoming a favorite of the local gent I visited with. Their crinkle fries are a perfect addition to any meal you get here. This is THE perfect place when you want to satisfy a quick hunger bite when you’re on the verge of being hangry, lol.

Wilson Fujinaga — Google review

My family went to the Square and had lunch here. Right off the bat, I saw this place had history. With the retro look and all the historical photos. A cool place to go back in time. However, the food was horrendous. Going into a hotdog restaurant, I expected high quality hotdogs, but that's not what I got. For 4 hotdogs, coleslaw, and some chicken nuggets it was $34.Which is fine, except Costco has better hotdogs than here and they are 1.50. Heck, I had better hotdogs at a gas station. The hotdogs were very low quality. Regular white hotdog buns, the cheapest kind you can get. I got the chilli dog and it looked and tastes like they use the cheapest canned chilli they can get.The cole slaw which was $3 a side, came in a small sauce cup (maybe 2TBS worth). It was dry, stale, and grey, it looked like it's been in the fridge for weeks.I understand it's a family owned business and may had to cut corners but man they cut too much corners. Would not recommend at all. I hope they turn around because they've been in Roanoke for a long time and have beautiful history and place in the city.

Danny Lee — Google review

Excellent place for a Roanoke tradition. The Roanoke Weiner stand has been around for ages. We stop by every time we are in town and never leave disappointed. Try a hot dog all the way (chili, onions, mustard) and you’ll never go back.

Jeff Thompson — Google review

Just wanted tea, and they were out at 12;30. The person there said they were too busy to make more. They are only open 5 hrs a day, so I was surprised they ran out so early. It’s busy I know during the holiday season, but still….plan accordingly or have more staff.

American restaurant

BILLY’S is a popular downtown Roanoke restaurant known for its refined American cuisine and elegant dining room with a full wooden bar. The restaurant offers a classy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a first date or special occasion. Guests can enjoy dishes like lobster Alfredo, grilled oysters, and lamb chop lollipops in the upscale setting. The outside patio area provides a perfect setting for appetizers and drinks, featuring a large fire pit for cooler evenings.

Decided on an anniversary lunch at Billy's.Ashley was our waitress. She was pleasant and personable and took good care of us.Surprised us with anniversary key lime pie for dessert. Very thoughtful. We had shrimp and grits and Billy's club. Both were delicious. Appetizers were bacon wrapped scallops (so tender and yummy) and the crab cakes (also very good)The co*cktail was a cucumber drink that I cannot remember the name of.Ashley recommended it when I asked about it and she was right on the money. It was refreshing and delicious. All in all --a very nice lunch and reminded me what a nice restaurant Billy's is. We definitely need to come more often!!!Thanks for a very nice anniversary lunch

Not a bad place to eat, but was expecting more. Avo on toast with scrambled egg was well below standard, with avo that was thinly applied and likely a store purchased avacado emulsion. Eggs were dry and closer to omelette than scrambled. French dip was better but nothing to scream about. Staff were efficiently friendly. Venue has the potential to be something special, but just didn’t shine the day were there and put in the back corner. Would have given 4 stars but couldn’t with the avacado dish being so port.

Mark Carroll — Google review

I had the pasta and chicken, which was quite tasty.I had the crab cake for an appetizer - to be honest, if I had it again I would forgo the bed of succotash upon which it was served. I prefer a crispy exterior which was lost from the moisture of the vegetable bed.Kim tried the stuffed tortellini stroganoff, and she always seems to make the best picks! The sides were small but well prepared. We were well stuffed so we took the limoncello cake home and I had a great breakfast treat in the morning!I tried the sparkling rose from Portugal and it was a fine value. The wine list, while not overwhelming has some nice choices. All the staff were top drawer.Go.Enjoy.

This restaurant is a family establishment yet romantic. The music is from the swing, jazz era. Gabe, our server was very pleasant and spoke with us several times. The service he provided was in line with an upscale establishment. He knew how the meals were prepared as well as the adult beverages. Gabe is a keeper and is a very mature young man. We look forward to seeing him again.

Billy's is a downtown Roanoke staple with consistently good food and service. The atmosphere is charming and slightly elevated, but a bit more dated than some of the restaurants in the area. Our party ordered several offerings off the menu and were pleased with them all. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio.

Liam Hudson — Google review

Wonderful food! Bacon wrapped scallop appetizer is incredible! The hummus tasted amazing! I opted for the strawberry salad, hands down delicious! My drinks were incredible as well!

While staying in the US on business travel, last night decided to join some friends of mine, who are local guys and they picked the BILLY'S. They told me it's a nice restaurant with dome good stuff. So I definitely needed to try and see whether they were right.😉👍🏻First we ordered some appetizers, like parmesan cheese with prosciutto ham and slices of bread, and also oysters. And we also did try some fried scallops wrapped in bacon. And this starter was a blast!! Really good.🥓👌🏻 Afterwards I had a salad with honey dressing and eventually... the star of the night...😜... Lamb Shank!! The lamb was simply delicious snd tender! Meat literally was falling off the bone! Wow!🍗😋🔥👌🏻 It was served with risotto and stewed vegetables. 🍚🥗 And last but not least I decided to try Crème Brûlèe. It was ok but as for myself - was a bit too sweet. I'd like it less sweet. But overall it was a very nice experience and really lovely evening dpent at the Billy's.😎👍🏻

The experience is elegant and the waiter was very helpful with recommendations. Highly recommend this restaurant for any celebration, date night, or when you simply want a good meal.

Wonderful place to have lunch! We had an awesome server, Tynnon, that provided fantastic customer service! He was knowledgeable and served us with a smile and we enjoyed his company. Our food was top notch and cooked perfectly. If you are in the area, you can make reservations or just drop in. We dropped in and sat out back in a fun enclosed area that was delightful. Highly recommend this place.

Great co*cktails and food. The fried green tomatoes were amazing. The eggs benedict was good but too salty. They were very accomodating for vegetarian dietary restrictions

Eloise J. Li — Google review

The food was very good. Not overdone, subtly seasoned, paired well. The quality of the food lived up to the price. The service was excellent. Quality service the whole meal; we were well taken care of.The atmosphere was lacking. There were far too many tables which made the volume of the restaurant too high to have a nice conversation. It was busy like eating at Applebee’s at dinner on a weekend. We were also seated right next to a hallway of some sort. Constant wait staff walking past our table; you shouldn’t seat people there at all.We might go back, but there are several other places in Roanoke with a better atmosphere for an intimate date, especially for the price.

I decided to come with my dad to Billy’s for the first time today, as it is my birthday. Katie was our waitress and she made sure everything was perfect!!! She even decorated a birthday bag for me and made me a card. She went above and beyond to make my lunch special! I got the crab cakes, and they were phenomenal, and my dad cannot stop raving about the blackened red snapper! Thank you all for an amazing lunch, and we will definitely be back!!!! The world needs more people like Miss Katie!! 🤍

SOOOO GOOD!! Everything we tried, we loved. Everything on the menu looked amazing. Wish we could have tried it all ha! Lots of options on the menu and food had a lot of flavor! I got the seafood pasta and soooo delicious! Would eat here again whenever we go back to Roanoke!!

Manuela Jones — Google review

Since front door had steps, manager Freddie helped our wheelchair get in restaurant from a side entrance. We felt very welcome.Ordered beer, bellini, pork belly and lamb shank. Everything was good until I cut through the shank and found out it was cold inside.Freddie right away noticed something was wrong and checked on us. He was apologetic. Took away the drinks and only charged us for the pork belly.A mistake made by kitchen and Freddie handled the situation professionally.Next time when we're in town again, would go back and give lamb shank a second try.

This place is awesome! Our server was so sweet and friendly ! I got the ritz co*cktail and it was light and tasty , calamari was delicious as always with the light batter and awesome sauce with it ! I always get my favorite lamb shank , it was incredible, Fall off the bone lamb and so delightful! And then for the dessert the crème brûlée ! The atmosphere is romantic and upscale ! I always feel special here. Thank you Billys!

Cesar salad is amazing, fresh and crisp mild spicy pepper makes the combination with Cesar creamy cheese sauce, cool but not frozen👍brisk roast is too good looking to eat it all!

John Hynes — Google review

I have been a big fan of brunch at Billy’s for several years, but after today’s experience, I likely won’t be back. The candied bacon was ice cold and covered in an unappealing, goopy blueberry sauce. None of the food we ordered was even warm, most of the food was made incorrectly, and one of the omelettes had hair in it. The manager was very kind and helpful but otherwise the experience was incredibly disappointing.

Lebanese restaurant

Middle Eastern restaurant

Cedars Lebanese Restaurant is a family-owned eatery located on Campbell Ave, offering a wide array of classic Lebanese dishes. The restaurant provides an extensive menu featuring appetizers, salads, wraps, main courses, and side dishes at affordable prices. Guests can choose to dine indoors or enjoy the outdoor seating area. The establishment prides itself on its prompt and courteous service, spotless cleanliness, and knowledgeable staff.

Cedars has been a personal staple for many years. My only complaint is that I don’t get it often enough because I don’t live in Roanoke. Stopping here is a must when passing through. The falafel wrap and fries are my favorite comfort food. The tabbouleh and fattoush salads are fresh and flavorful. Lebanese coffee is a good closer. Quality and service have always been top notch.

Joshua Reifert — Google review

Unlike the reviews we don't think the food or the service is good. The presentation is okay but not the flavors. The falafel is dryer than the Sahara desert and flavorless. The salad has so much lemon juice in it it's so sour it makes you gag. The shawarma is really dry as well and it doesn't have any sauce in it. The halabi kebab doesn't taste like beef, it doesn't have much flavor and the rice tastes old. Waiter didn't fill our water once, there's only three tables and food took FOREVER to come. Waiter checked on neighboring tables over 8 times and filled drinks but did not come to us a single time. Overall not remotely worth the money. At least the water was good.

Kevin Song — Google review

Absolutely amazing! We did the five mezza plates and the kebab combo platter so we could try lots. Everything was just delicious! The server was quick and friendly as well. Maybe the best hummus and grape leaves I've ever had!

Katie Sizer — Google review

Had a quick dinner. The meat pies were a little dry and could use some sauce. The chicken skewers plate was very good and we shared one. Understaffed, but they were attentive and did a good job. The couch I sat on was torn up.

Max Moroz — Google review

The food was freshly made and delicious. The service was very attentive to our needs and answered all our questions. Would highly recommend stopping by for a great taste of Lebanon.

Horrible service! Snarky waitress shows up to the table eyes down no greeting nothing! Bad manners and straight up RUDE.Left us there for half an hour to grab orders then more time to bring us our checks (only after flagging her down). NO communication whatsoever and never refilled our drinks or asked how we were doing. Very very disappointed. Table left dirty the whole visit. Never coming back here again! Hire better servers they work for their tip its not free. Shame

Nancy Pride — Google review

First visit but it won't be the last! Lamb was extremely tender and flavorful, Lebanese potato salad was amazing, chicken shawarma was great, and the tabouli was amazing as well! We now have another reason to venture into downtown Roanoke.

Tony Bond — Google review

Really friendly service and quick at this restaurant. Food was tasty but a bit over salty in my opinion. They also charge a credit card processing fee which is not customer friendly and perhaps against their card agreement terms.

Y B — Google review

The food was pretty good. The atmosphere was also quite nice and our server, Pablo, was also really helpful and friendly.

Aayush Narang — Google review

A bit bland for our liking, 4% fee if you’re not using cash, extensive wait times, and music goes in and out. Lebanese food sounded great, but I wish we skipped this restaurant. The dessert menu has about 7 items on it, and they only had 1 to offer. The owner also took my card with the leather card holder, set it down and started slicing bread with the same hand. I use that card at gas stations, arcades, bars, etc. It’s just not well run or cared for.

Christian Prescott — Google review

Love this Lebanese restaurant and hookah bar! Great spot for groups. Best hookah in town. Authentic food recipes, including lots of vegetarian options. Nice decor as well. Located in the heart of downtown Roanoke. Definitely recommended!

Reema Azar — Google review

It was nice to enjoy a meal that you can't eat just anywhere. We enjoy eating at restaurants that aren't big chains. We had chicken shwarma with tabouili...best tabouili ever! We also had an appetizer (lebnah) & dessert (baklava)...oh and we tried Lebanese coffee for the first time. I recommend not sweetening it so your tastebuds can get the full affect.

G Zilla — Google review

Stopped in here on our honeymoon for lunch. Super cute family owned restaurant with culture. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the history was very cool. Would recommend

Lane Hall — Google review

WHERE IS THE FLAVOR , nothing like that mouth watering, tastebuds dancing when you eat an authentic middle eastern cuisine. Grape leaves not enough seasoning and rice undercooked. Garlic sauce barely have garlic. We ordered shish tauok and lamb kebab and both was raw had to send back. Since my husband asked for the chicken I ordered one to go. Chicken was well cooked but this time they put bottom of the pot rice, over cooked and bottom burnt combined. Pide bread the server brought to table was not even on plate but just wrapped in napkin, very thin broken pieces. THIS PLACE LOST TOUCH, you have to deliver that tasteful experience of another culture instead of serving rice and meat and chopped tomatoes on everything. To top it off the bad experience, he gave us Valentines Day left over chocolate covered strawberries after telling us “the desert on the house since your meat was undercooked “ Not worth the money

Sebnem Richardson — Google review

Loved this place. They have many vegetarian options. The Mezza plate is a great deal for people who want to share and try different things. Totally recommend and would return.

The restaurant prides itself on using high-quality ingredients to create delicious meals that are expertly prepared. Customers have praised the efficient service and quick delivery of hot, fresh food, even during busy times. One standout dish is the perfectly cooked steak, which impressed diners with its accurate preparation according to their preferences.

Samantha was a fantastic waitress! She kept our drinks filled before we even asked, and checked on us often. She is very friendly and seems to enjoy her job. I got the Tuscan grilled chicken and it was amazing!

Tasty food in Roanoke, VA and surprisingly decent choice of wines. I had not been to a restaurant in a strip mall in a long time (just happened so, not by choice) and was pleasantly surprised by this. Service was good and polite, even though we were amongst the last guests to check in prior to closing. Enjoyed the experience.

Athar Khan — Google review

We visited Carrabba’s on a very busy Saturday night. The staff all worked together. Our drinks were full, our food came out perfectly timed from the appetizers to the dinner. My steak is the reason I’m posting this review. I always struggle in how to order my steaks because at most places if I order it medium, it’s almost always medium rare, if I order medium well, it’s well done. Tonight at Carrabba’s I ordered my steak medium and it was a true medium. Overall an excellent dining experience.

Andrea Martin Inspired — Google review

First time trying this restaurant out and i loved it. Bread is one of my favorite things and Carrabba’s had a yummy bread that was accompanied by an oil and herb dip that was good. We did not know you got bread with your meals so we also ordered the bread tower. It was made with a different type of bread and was tasty as well. This is a great date night place. It was quiet and had a chill atmosphere. We were able to talk and have a relaxed evening. The waiters were nice and explained several options on the menu after we said we hadn’t been there before.I definitely recommend the mezzaluna pasta. It was some unique flavors not just a cheese ravioli.

I’m originally from the Chicago suburbs. I’m out here working on the. I-81 widening project. I came here and I got the best service and felt right at home. My servers name was Lissy, she is amazing, very friendly, very attentive, made my visit at Carrabbas amazing. Kept coming back because of her and Caitlin she was amazing.

Short and sweet review, the quality of food from the looks of the food to the taste has gone down hill tremendously! Overcooked pasta and dried out sauce, I always get the infamous Pic and Pac pasta with no protein. But now you can tell, see and taste the corners that are cut in making this dish. Barely any garlic chunks, fresh basil, or black pepper! I don’t recommend wasting your time and/or money but everyone has a different experience. They don’t cook or make their food with the freshest ingredients nor are they dedicated to the craft of cooking great food. There’s no current honor in their Italian style cooking methods. For my last two visits, Carrabba’s has missed the mark and fallen short.

LaShonda Otey — Google review

I went came here on veterans day after going to different places and just waiting and waiting to be seated. I came in got seated right away. The waitress was Michelle and she got our drinks and we ordered the zucchini appetizer. I kid you not my appetizer was on the table fresh n hot less than 2 minutes after placing the order. My soup came out almost immediately after that. The food was shortly behind. I have never had service n food come out that fast ever. And it was all hot n fresh cooked. The waitress was the best waitress I've ever had wait on me in my life. She was so full of life and sweet n friendly. Gave recommendations. And was on point with everything. I will definitely be back just for the service.

Sat at the bar. Bartender and staff were excellent. Food was fast and delicious. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The experience here was on par or better than the more high end and more expensive restaurants in the area. This review is including what I witnessed from other customers seated at the bar. Definitely try this place if you're near the mall. Traffic can be difficult but it will be worth the headache. Tip your staff well! I rarely have this good of an experience in this area since I moved here.

Carrabba’s staff are A#1, Zack, our server, Bridgette, the assistant server and Lissy the bartender, All Class Acts! I’m a Customer Service Manager for double digit years and these 3 were phenomenal, service seemed effortless and it almost appeared that our minds were read as quickly as we were served these delicious beverages, appetizers and entrees. They all were experts in the menu selections and extremely kind and accommodating. An Enjoyable Experience!!!!

K Reid — Google review

This was my first time dining here, and I really enjoyed it. The food was good (I ate pasta), but the service was just amazing. You can tell the environment is friendly and relaxed because of the service you receive. Lissy and Kylie made me feel so comfortable, and they were of top of every detail without overdoing it. They made the experience extremely enjoyable, and I will certainly come back to eat at their section again.

Vanesa Moreira — Google review

From out of town was looking for a quick bite to eat and wound up spending my entire afternoon with Lissy and Ty. My food (shrimp and scallop linguine) was amazing but my service was even better! Ty was extremely helpful and attentive while Lissy managed not only the bar but the Togo area as well. Lissy also makes an amazing Pomegranate martini. 10/10 experience can’t wait to come back and visit them!

The server with the long ponytail was amazing!! He was not our server but he might as well have been. He got everything we asked for and did it promptly and kindly and it was amazing 👏 watching him serve most of the restaurant bye his self while the main servers just watched how amazing 👏👏

Jennifer Kennedy — Google review

Food was outstanding!Lissy our server didn’t miss a beat! Our dishes between appetizers, salad, and the main course came out at the appropriate times! Never had to ask for a refill! The atmosphere I gave a 3 because it needs some sprucing up. Hostess stand is wrapped in some type of ripped wrapping paper. And it took awhile for a hostess to greet us as they were talking with other employees near the kitchen. But once we got pass that, it was a winner!

Robert D — Google review

Lissy is an amazing waitress. She's very down to earth, yet polite and professional at the same time. She pays extreme attention to detail, such as a low glass or a dirty dish, and has no struggle with striking up an upbeat and outgoing conversation. Her diligence is to each and every single customer, as a group and separately. Her bubbly personality makes her shine even in a bright room full of lights, and she has a striking attitude. I remember having her as a waitress back in mid 2023, and more than half a year later, she still stands out. She will absolutely make your dining experience one of a kind. If you can, when going to Roanoke VA, ask for Lissy.

Upon my arrival at this location I was met with spectacular service and a sweet smile. The bar, located at the left side of this location, had 14 high top chairs and a fantastic bartender whose services and experience went to infinity and beyond. My experience with my fantastic food and my time with Ms. Lizzy Lightyear came together with a fantastic experience. 10/10 would recommend and will return to this location.

Truly needed – a really good food experience in the area! Had the Tuscan Chops, the bread tower, and a couple of other items. Every single item was excellent! And, as important, it was all just as described in the menu. It is indeed refreshing to enjoy what you ordered and to have it look as it should. Bravo Carrabba’s for saying what you do and doing what you say! Good, quality food!
