James and LeDawna Second Shooting | Phoenix Wedding Photographer

One Saturday I returned home from an early morning portrait session to get a text from my friend Andy (CueMotion, Videographer, he rocks!). He told me the photographer for the wedding he was at didn’t have a second shooter. At first I thought, nah, this is my Saturday off from weddings, but then I realized how much fun it would be to be shooting a wedding. I texted him back and asked who the photographer was. He said it was the fabulous Lara Hanlon. How could I say no to meeting someone so awesome? I quickly charged my equipment and ran to the wedding. Lara was super nice and we started to bond over talking dorky photographer speak. Anyway, the wedding was fabulous. I wanted to post a few of my images before its months later and I don’t have time. My shots are mainly from the side and little detail shots. Second shooting is always interesting and fun. I feel like I done a lot of it this summer (maybe a little too much! My husband would agree). I plan to post some advice on second shooting, just some tips and tricks. Hopefully it helps a few people.  One more thing, To see the whole day by Lara (awesome images, ones that are straight on too!) check out her post.

I’ll be posting a lovely wedding that I shot soon. Life has been busy, like expected before you are trying to move across the country. Hopefully I’ll have some relaxing weekends ahead spent cramming items into boxes (not that I do that or pack my clothes in trash bags). Please don’t judge.

LaDawna was just glowing.

Her flowers were absolutely amazing.  Her wedding had so many elegant touches.

The sun came out for a little bit while we were shooting. It was lovely.

I love this image.

One of my favorites. They are so sweet kissing in front of that beautiful greenery.

Erin Bridal Session | Omaha Wedding Photographer

As promised, here are more photos from Erin’s bridal session. She is officially a married woman as of Saturday! Congrats Erin!

I had a few people ask me what is a bridal session. It is a chance to put on your dress before or after your wedding to take some photos of you looking fabulous (it’s basically an excuse to put on your dress one more time and take extra photos). The wedding day is always very rushed and there is not always time to get all those photos you would like at different locations. For Erin’s session we went to Elmwood park, the Magnolia hotel, and borrowed a good friends roof to see downtown.

On a personal note, I spent today recovering from the weekend and catching up on a few items. Working in the heat all weekend was exhausting, but I got some amazing photos I can’t wait to share. I’m excited for what this year and next year have in store for me. Hope everyone has a lovely week!

Jacque and Kevin | Omaha NE Wedding Photographer

You might remember Jacque and Kevin from their fabulous day after session (click here to view it). Their wedding was even more amazing. Jacque put a lot of work into the details of the day. It was absolutely beautiful from decorations in the church, to the cake, and reception venue. What I love about Jacque is she envisioned the entire day and knew exactly what she wanted.

Jacque and Kevin radiated happiness the entire day. I love the photos of when Kevin looks at Jacque. He just glows with love. I can tell they truly compliment each other. When they opened their gifts separately, I knew they both took a lot of time picking out the perfect gift. There were tears and excitement. Kevin even picked flowers on his run the morning of their wedding to give to Jacque. It was an absolute perfect day and I know they’ll both look back on it with lovely thoughts and emotions. Congrats Kevin and Jacque! I know you have many, many years of happiness ahead of you.

I couldn’t include all the images I wanted to so if you would like to view their slideshow with more images from their day click here.

Jacque gave Kevin dirt and a seat from Yankee Stadium. He was so excited.

Flowers from Kevin.

Kevin wrote Jacque a beautiful letter that was several pages long!

Seriously, he looks like a Calvin Klein model. I loved the gray suits.

Jacque is Beautiful!

The details were fabulous.

The light was fabulous too!

I love this photo of the flower girl.

I love the sparkler exit too!

Jacque and Kevin Day After Session | Omaha NE Photographer

I’m so excited to share this post with you. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever to share it. Jacque and Kevin are two amazing people who are so in love with each other. Their wedding (coming soon) was fabulous! Jacque spent a lot of time working on little details, which I absolutely loved and made the day very special. This day after session is special to me because it was a chance to relax and really get to know them. (they also shared the best cake ever! I go to a lot of weddings and it was the best cake I’ve had so far). The wedding day is always rushed and there is never enough time for the bride and groom to relax and love on each other while they take photos. The day after session gave me a chance to really focus on them and getting beautiful wedding photos. They are a genuinely happy couple. Jacque’s minister described her as a genuine person who surrounds herself with the same type of people. I definitely saw that in her and in Kevin. I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to spend a couple hours on Sunday with them. Congrats Jacque and Kevin!! I hope your first weeks of marriage have been fabulous!

Frances and Bruce | Omaha NE Wedding Photographer

Frances and Bruce’s wedding was filled with a lot of love, a crazy bird, beautiful details and warm weather. I loved every minute of it. Frances was a very elegant bride and was so excited to be marrying a sweet man like Bruce. Frances had the sweetest parents and they were so in love with each other. I know Frances and Bruce have years full of happiness together just like their parents. I hope they’re having a wonderful time on their honeymoon in Mexico!

Still can’t believe I caught this shot.

Frances parents celebrating a wonderful day. See how in love they are?

This is Luke. He is hilarious. Luke’s wife is to the right of him. That is the same look I give Josh.

The day wouldn’t be finished without some ring action!
