Sorry this post is going to be short. I’ve been a little under the weather the past two days. When Angela contacted me for this session she loved the idea of going to old market to take pictures. I was so excited because I rarely photograph there and it is one of my favorite spots. Eli is full of life. He is so happy and is a little model. I seriously think gap needs to hire him. I’m so lucky to photograph the cutest kids ever.

My Favorite!
This family is just full of happiness. Dawn and Quinn have such a love for their three children. Their lives are just have plenty of fun and excitement! I love the way their children loved to be near them. Elly, Will and Jameson all have different personalities. Looking through the photos I quickly noticed it. Elly is the strong independent girl who loves to run and play. Will is a little shy and loves to be close to mom. Jameson is just a bundle of happiness. When he smiles his whole face lights up! I was so lucky to have the opportunity to spend time with this family. When I look through these photos it reminds me of being a kid and the simplicity of life. Thank you all so much!

When I started to select photos from this session for the sneak peak I ended up with over 30. I really wanted to blog them all because this session was awesome. Kayla and Patrick are high school sweet hearts. From high school till now they are still totally in love. At the session I loved the way they looked at each other, just so happy. Patrick just lights up every time he looks at Kayla. You will see it a lot in these photos. This session was also awesome because their dog joined them half way through. I’ve been waiting to shoot a couple with their dog for a long time. If you have a dog feel free to bring it to the session. It is so much fun!
On a personal note, when I looked through this session I really started to see where I’m going as a photographer. It got me excited. This is the person I’m becoming and my style as a photographer. It is difficult at times to find your photographer identity and it’s finally starting to come out. I’m so passionate about my work and I truly want it to be amazing. I can’t wait to see where I am a year from now. In one short year I can’t believe how much I’ve grown. I can’t wait to see what the years ahead bring.
Kayla and Patrick, thank you so much for spending an evening with me! I can’t wait for your wedding in March.

I love this one. It feels like they are somewhere in Europe, not in Nebraska.
My husband and I have wanted a dog for a long long time. The problem was every place we moved to didn’t allow dogs. Since our lease was up in August we decided it was time to move to a younger community and find a place where we could FINALLY have a dog. The week before we moved Josh and I started to go to the humane society every day. After several days of going there and stalking their website we found Murray. He is an eight month old beagle mix with a goofy personality. We’ve only had him for a week, but it’s been an amazing week. He is a playful and lazy puppy. The humane society in Nebraska is great. I would highly recommend adopting from your local shelter.
So far we’ve learned Murray does not like peanut butter and getting in water. He loves other dogs and we take him to the dog park almost everyday. It’s been nice for me because after editing for hours it makes me go outside to take him on walks.
If you are wondering, Murray is named after Murray from flight of the conchords and the dog Murray from Mad About you.

I took this picture after we left the dog park. Murray was covered in mud so we wrapped him in a blanket for the ride home.
I’ve known Katherine since she was eleven. She has been one of those people whose had an impact on my life and we’ve made it through the good and bad times together. She never forgets her friends, even when I moved far away she sends me texts just to say hi. I was so excited when she asked me to take photos of her son Lucas for his first birthday. At the session Lucas was all smiles. He is one of the happiest babies I’ve ever met and is freaking gorgeous, I mean look at his beautiful eyes. Also, he has an amazing climbing ability. At eleven months he can climb up a slide by himself. I couldn’t believe it.

Also, sorry I’ve been mia on my blog. I’ve spent the last three weeks catching up on editing and attending two workshops. It was an amazing time and I learned so much. There will be a new blog with our exciting news coming this week. We adopted a new addition to our family and I can’t wait to share photos.
